Yuzvendra Chahal's maiden five-for and Kuldeep Yadav's three-for before An unbeaten half-century from Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli's superb 46* steers to India's record nine-wicket victory over South Africa and wrap up 2-0 lead in a one-sided game of the second ODI.

  • India's 9-wicket win was their joint second largest victory by terms of wickets remaining in One-day international, it is their 19th time win by nine wickets and first time India had defeated South Africa by nine wickets in ODIs.
  • India's 179-balls spare win was their fifth largest victory by terms of balls remaining in One-day international and it is their biggest victory against South Africa in ODIs.
  • South Africa's 118 was their eighth lowest score in the completed innings in One-day international and it is their second worst total against India in ODIs.
  • Yuzvendra Chahal's 5 for 22 was his best bowling performance for India in One-day international and the second best bowling figures by an Indian bowler against South Africa in ODIs after Sunil Joshi's 5 for 6.
  • Yuzvendra Chahal became the second Indian bowler to claimed a five-wicket haul against South Africa in One-day internationals after Sunil Joshi.
  • 93* : Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli set up the fourth highest second-wicket partnership for India against South Africa in South African soil in One-day internationals.



South Africa scored 118 for all-out in 32.2 overs with top scorer by JP Duminy 25, Debutant Khaya Zondo - who scored 25 off 45-balls on his debut ODI match, Hashim Amla 23 and Quinton de Kock 20.

India best bowler by Yuzvendra Chahal 5-22, Kuldeep Yadav picked up 3-wickets for 20-runs in 6 overs, Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar both took one-wickets.

India chased 119-1 in 20.3 overs with top scorer by Shikhar Dhawan cracked a unbeaten 51 off 56-balls including 9-fours.

Virat Kohli scored a unbeaten 46 off 50-balls including 4-fours & a six and Rohit Sharma 15.

South Africa best bowler by Kagiso Rabada took one wicket for 24-runs in 5-overs.

Yuzvendra Chahal named player of the match for his brilliant bowling performance to claimed a career-best 5-wicket haul for 22-runs in 8.2 overs including one maiden.
