West Indies' 257-run defeat was their worst by margin of runs in One-day international, previous worst defeat was 209 against same opponent at Cape Town in 2004 and the joint worst defeat by margin of runs in World Cup history, jointly 257-run defeat by Bermuda against India at Port of Spain in the 2007 World Cup. South Africa's 408 was their fourth highest score in One-day international, It is their second highest-score against West Indies in ODIs, also the second highest total in World Cups and the highest team total at Australian soil in ODIs. West Indies' 151 was their 11th lowest score against South Africa in One-day international and It is their sixth worst total in World Cups. AB de Villiers hammered a 52-ball his second fastest century for South Africa in One-day internationals. The most significant of those were 261 runs in the last 20 overs, a World Cup record and second only to the Johannesburg loot in all ODIs. AB de Villiers hammered a 64-ball fastest 150 ever in One-day international cricket history, surpassing the previous record of 83-ball 150 held by Shane Watson against Bangladesh at Dhaka in 2011. AB De Villiers now has the fastest fifty, century and 150 in ODI cricket - all against West Indies. AB de Villiers equalled a joint most centuries hit by an South African batsman against West Indies in One-day international and also the joint most centuries by any batsman against West Indies in ODIs, jointly with 5-hundreds hit by Herschelle Gibbs. Imran Tahir's 5 for 45 was his best bowling performance for South Africa in One-day international, It the third best bowling figures by an South African bowler against West Indies in ODIs and the joint fifth best bowling figures by an South African bowler in World Cups, jointly with Andre Nel. Imran Tahir became the fourth South African bowler to claimed a five-wicket haul against West Indies in One-day international after Shaun Pollock, Jacques Kallis and Charles Langeveldt. Imran Tahir became the seventh South African bowler to take a five-wicket haul in World Cups.

South Africa scored mammoth total of 408-5 in 50 overs with top scorer by AB de Villiers hammered a unbeaten 162 off 66-balls - which was his 20th ODI hundred, his fifth century against West Indies in ODIs and his fourth ODI hundred in World Cups.

Hashim Amla scored 65 off 88-balls including one-four and a six, Faf du Plessis scored 62 off 70-balls included three boundaries and Rilee Rossouw who scored rapid 61 off 39-balls with six-fours and a six.

West Indies best bowler by Chris Gayle, Andre Russell each picked up two-wickets and Jason Holder took one wicket.

West Indies scored 151 for all-out in 33.1 overs with top scorer by Jason Holder struck 56 off 48-balls including 3-fours and 4-sixes, Dwayne Smith scored 31 off 34-balls included four-fours and a six, Denesh Ramdin scored 22 and Jerome Taylor 15 not out.

South Africa best bowler by Imran Tahir claimed a career-best 5-wicket haul for 45-runs in 10 overs, Morne Morkel, Kyle Abbott both took 2-wickets and one for Dale Steyn.

AB de Villiers named player of the match for his sensational batting performance to smashed a career-best unbeaten rapid 162-runs knocked off facing 66-balls including 17-fours and 8-sixes with strike rate of 245.45.
