Lahiru Thirimanne and Kumar Sangakkara stunning centuries led to Sri Lanka emphatic nine-wicket victory over England, despite a Joe Root's superb century in the 22nd match of the World Cup 2015.

England scored 306-9 in 50 overs with top scorer by Joe Root hammered a 121 off 108-balls - which was his 4th ODI hundred & his second century against Sri Lanka in ODIs and also his first ODI hundred in World Cups - including 14-fours and 2-sixes.

Ian Bell 49 off 54-balls - who fell one-run short of his half-century included seven boundaries, Jos Buttler hammered a 39 off 19-balls with 6-fours and a six.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Tillakaratne Dilshan, Rangana Herath, Angelo Mathews, Thisara Perera, Lasith Malinga and Suranga Lakmal each took one wickets.

Sri Lanka chased 312-1 in 47.2 overs with top scorer by Lahiru Thirimanne scored a unbeaten 139 off 143-balls  - who scored his 4th ODI hundred & his first century against England in ODIs and his including 13-fours and 2-sixes.

Kumar Sangakkara 117 not out - which was his 23rd ODI hundred and Tillakaratne Dilshan struck 44 off 55-balls included four-fours and two-sixes.

England best bowler by Moeen Ali took one wicket for 50-runs from 10 overs.

Kumar Sangakkara named Player of the match for his majestic batting performance to scored unbeaten 117-runs knocked off 86-balls including 11-fours and 2-sixes with strike rate of 136.04.
