Moeen Ali's maiden world cup century and Ian Bell's supporting half-century before bowlers attack helped to England's record 119-run victory over Scotland and gain a much-needed first win in a one-sided game of the 14th match of a World Cup.

  • England's 303 was their highest score against Scotland in One-day international and It is their sixth highest total in World Cups.
  • Scotland's 184 was their second highest score against England in One-day international and also It is their second highest total in World Cups.
  • Moeen Ali's 128 was his highest score for England in One-day international, It is the highest score by an England batsman against Scotland in ODIs, surpassing the previous record of 69 held by Craig Kieswetter at Edinburgh in 2010 and the fifth highest score by an England batsman in World Cups.
  • Moeen Ali became the first England batsman to score a hundred against Scotland in One-day international cricket history.

England scored massive total of 303-8 in 50 overs with top scorer by Moeen Ali 128 - which was his 2nd ODI hundred, his first century against Scotland and also his first ODI hundred in World Cups.

Ian Bell struck 54 off 85-balls including 2-fours, Eoin Morgan cracked a 46 off 42-balls including 4-fours & 2-sixes, Jos Buttler 24 and James Taylor 17.

Scotland best bowler by Josh Davey claimed a 4-wicket haul for 68-runs in 10 overs, Richie Berrington, Alasdair Evans, Majid Haq and Iain Wardlaw each took one-wickets.

Scotland scored 184 for all-out in 42.2 overs with top scorer by Kyle Coetzer struck 71 off 84-balls including 11-fours, Preston Mommsen 26, Matthew Cross 23 and Majid Haq 15.

England best bowler by Steven Finn picked up 3-wickets for 26-runs in 9 overs, Chris Woakes, James Anderson, Moeen Ali each took 2-wickets and one for Joe Root.

Moeen Ali named player of the match for his brilliant batting performance to scored a career-best 128-runs knocked off facing 107-balls including 12-fours and 5-sixes with strike rate of 119.63.
