South Africa's 177 was their joint fourth lowest score in the completed innings against India in One-day international and It is their fourth worst total in World Cups. 127 : Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli set up the sixth highest second-wicket partnership for India against South Africa in One-day international and India's joint seventh highest second-wicket stand in World Cups, jointly 127-run stand held by between Sachin and Mohammad Azharuddin against New Zealand at Dunedin in the 1992 World Cup. 125 : Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane set up the second highest third-wicket partnership for India against South Africa in One-day international and India's fourth highest third-wicket stand in World Cups. Shikhar Dhawan's 137 his highest score for India in One-day international, It is the third highest score by an Indian batsman against South Africa in ODIs and the joint seventh highest score by an Indian batsman in World Cups, jointly with Sachin Tendulkar. Shikhar Dhawan became the 11th Indian player to score a hundred in World Cups.

India scored massive total of 307-7 in 50 overs with top scorer by Shikhar Dhawan 137 - which was his 7th ODI hundred, his second century against South Africa in ODIs and his first ODI hundred in World Cups.

Ajinkya Rahane hammered a 79 off 60-balls including 7-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 131.67, Virat Kohli scored 46 off 60-balls included 3-fours and MS Dhoni 18.

South Africa best bowler by Morne Morkel 2-wickets, Imran Tahir, Dale Steyn and Wayne Parnell each took one-wickets.

South Africa scored 177 for all-out in 40.2 overs with top scorer by Faf du Plessis struck 55 off 71-balls including five boundaries.

AB de Villiers scored 30 off 38-balls including 3-fours, Hashim Amla 22, David Miller 22 and Wayne Parnell 17 not out.

India best bowler by Ravichandran Ashwin picked up 3-wickets, Mohit Sharma, Mohammed Shami both took 2-wickets and one for Ravindra Jadeja.

Shikhar Dhawan named Player of the match for his spectacular batting display of scoring a career-best 137-runs knocked off facing 146-balls including 16-fours and 2-sixes.
