Bowlers attack before Half-century from Virat Kohli steers to India crushing seven-wicket victory over England and take a 2-1 lead in a one-sided game of the third ODI.

  • India's 131-balls spare was their largest victory by terms of balls remaining against England in One-day internationals, previous biggest win by 123-balls at Jaipur in 2006.
  • India chased 156 was their second lowest successful run-chase against England in One-day internationals.
  • England's 155 was their third lowest score in the completed innings against India in One-day internationals.
  • 93 Innings : Virat Kohli became the second fastest to reach 4000 ODI runs in terms of innings, after Viv Richards' 88 innings.
  • JSCA International Cricket Stadium Complex, Ranchi became the 42nd Indian venue to host a One-day international match and the 182nd venue in the world to host a ODI match.

England scored 155 for all-out in 42.2 overs with top scorer by Joe Root struck 39 off 57-balls including four boundaries, Ian Bell 25, Tim Bresnan 25, Alastair Cook 17 and Kevin Pietersen 17.

India best bowler by Ravindra Jadeja picked up 3-wickets for 19-runs in 6.2-overs, Ishant Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin both took 2-wickets, Suresh Raina, Mohammed Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar each took one-wickets.

India chased 157-3 in 28.1 overs with top scorer by Virat Kohli 77 not out, Gautam Gambhir struck 33 off 53-balls included four-fours.

Yuvraj Singh hammered a 30 off 21-balls including 6-fours with strike rate of 142.86.

England best bowler by James Tredwell took 2-wickets and one for Steven Finn.

Virat Kohli named player of the match for his match-winning magnificent unbeaten 77-runs knocked off 79-balls including 9-fours and 2-sixes.
