Matthew Wade's impressive debut fifty, An unbeaten quick-fire half-century from David Hussey and Michael Hussey's crusial 45 before Clint McKay's four-for and Mitchell Starc's two key wickets helped to Australia cruising to via DLS method 65-run victory over India in a rain-hit game of the first match of a Tri-series.

Match Stats : 
  • Australia's 65-run win was their fifth largest victory by terms of runs against India at their home venue in One-day internationals.
  • India's 151 was their fifth lowest score in the completed innings against Australia in One-day internationals.
  • 62* : David Hussey and Dan Christian set up the tenth highest sixth-wicket partnership for Australia against India in One-day internationals.

Australia scored 216-5 in 32 overs - due to rain match reduced 50 to 32-overs per side - with top scorer by Debutant Matthew Wade -  who scored 67 off 69-balls on his debut ODI match.

David Hussey hammered a unbeaten 61 off 30-balls including 4-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 203.33, Michael Hussey cracked a 45 off 32-balls with four boundaries.

India best bowler by Vinay Kumar picked up 3-wickets for 21-runs in 7-overs, Rohit Sharma and Rahul Sharma both took one-wickets.

India scored 151 for all-out in 29.4 overs with top scorer by Virat Kohli struck 31 off 34-balls including 3-fours, MS Dhoni 29, Rohit Sharma 21, Ravindra Jadeja 19 and Praveen Kumar 15.

Australia best bowler by Clint McKay claimed a four-wickets for 20-runs in 4.4 overs, Mitchell Starc, Xavier Doherty both takes 2-wickets and Debutant Daniel Christian - who took one-wicket on his debut ODI match.

Matthew Wade named Player of the match for his impressive 67-runs knocked off facing 69-balls including 4-fours and 2-sixes.
