Adam Gilchrist's superb century before Nathan Bracken and Mitchell Johnson's combined 6-wickets helped to Australia comprehensive 63-run victory over Sri Lanka, despite a last-man standing knock from Kumar Sangakkara's 80 and move to top of the table in the sixth match of a CB Tri-series.

  • Australia's 63-run win was their fourth largest victory by terms of runs against Sri Lanka at WACA Ground in One-day internationals.
  • 6 : Adam Gilchrist hit the third most centuries by any batsman against Sri Lanka in One-day internationals after Saeed Anwar (7) and Sachin Tendulkar (7).
  • Australia lost their last six wickets for just 30-runs - which was their worst last six-wicket collapse against Sri Lanka in One-day international. They went from 206 for 4 to 236 for all out, Their previous worst such collapse was six for 55-runs against Pakistan at Colombo (RPS) in 2004.
  • Australia's 236 was their third lowest score against Sri Lanka at WACA Ground in One-day internationals.
  • Sri Lanka's 173 was their fourth lowest score against Australia at WACA Ground in One-day internationals.
  • 105 : Adam Gilchrist and Michael Clarke set up the seventh highest third-wicket partnership for Australia against Sri Lanka in One-day internationals.

Australia scored 236 for all-out in 49.4 overs with top scorer by Adam Gilchrist 118 - which was his 16th ODI hundred and his sixth century against Sri Lanka in ODIs.

Michael Clarke cracked a 43 off 69-balls including 4-fours, Ricky Ponting scored a run-a-ball 25-runs included four-fours and Michael Hussey hit 25 off 28-balls with a boundary.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Lasith Malinga claimed a 4-wickets for 47-runs in 9.4 overs, Nuwan Kulasekara took 2-wickets, Chaminda Vaas, Muttiah Muralitharan and Farveez Maharoof each took one-wickets.

Sri Lanka scored 173 for all-out in 45.3 overs with top scorer by Kumar Sangakkara struck 80 off 114-balls including four boundaries.

Chamara Kapugedera scored 26 off consuming 60-balls including 2-fours and Mahela Jayawardene 21.

Australia best bowler by Nathan Bracken picked up 3-wickets for 21-runs in 8-overs including two maidens, Mitchell Johnson takes 3-wickets for 29-runs in 10-overs included 2-maidens, Brad Hogg took 2-wickets and one for James Hopes - Brett Lee.

Adam Gilchrist named Player of the match for his masterclass 118-runs knocked off facing 132-balls including 9-fours and 3-sixes.
