All-round Aamer Sohail and brilliant half-centuries from Saeed Anwar, Ijaz Ahmed and Inzamam-ul-Haq guided Pakistan comfortable seven-wicket victory over England in the World Cup Group B match.

* Robin Smith and Michael Atherton contributed 147 for the 1st wicket, highest partnership for any wicket by England against Pakistan, first ever century partnership for the 1st wicket at Karachi.

England scored decent total of 249-9 in 50 overs with top scorer by Robin Smith struck 75 off 92-balls including 8-fours and a six, Michael Atherton scored 66 off 91-balls included six boundaries and Graham Thorpe cracked a unbeaten 52 off 64-balls with three-fours.

Pakistan best bowler by Mushtaq Ahmed picked up 3-wickets, Aamer Sohail took two-wickets, Saleem Malik, Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis each took one-wickets.

Pakistan chased 250-3 in 47.4 overs with top scorer by Saeed Anwar struck 71 off 72-balls including eight boundaries, Ijaz Ahmed scored 70 off 83-balls included six-fours, Inzamam-ul-Haq smashed a unbeaten 53 off 54-deliveries with 6-fours and Aamer Sohail scored 42.

England best bowler by Dominic Cork picked up two-wickets and one for Richard IlIingworth.

Aamer Sohail named Player of the match for his all-round performance to scored valuable 42 off 56-balls including six-fours after a his brilliant bowling to took two match-turning wickets of Michael Atherton (66) and Graeme Hick (1)
