Skipper Richie Richardson led to West Indies cruise four-wicket victory over Australia, despite a brilliant century from Ricky Ponting and qualify for the quarter-finals in the World Cup Group A match.

Match Stats :  Ricky Ponting became the sixth Australian batsman to score a century against West Indies in ODIs and also the sixth Australian player to score a hundred in World Cups.

Australia scored 229-6 in 50 overs with top scorer by Ricky Ponting struck 102 off 112-balls - which was his 2nd ODI hundred, his first century against West Indies in ODIs -  including five-fours and a six.

Steve Waugh cracked a 57 off 64-balls included 3-fours & a six and Mark Waugh scored 30 off 62-balls included a boundary.

West Indies best bowler by Courtesy Walsh took two-wickets and one for Roger Harper.

West Indies chased 232-6 in 48.5 overs with top scorer by Richie Richardson hit a unbeaten 93 off 133-balls, Brian Lara struck 60 off 70-balls including seven boundaries.

Roger Harper scored 22 off 27-balls including 2-fours and Jimmy Adams hit a unbeaten 17 off 22-balls included 3-fours.

Australia best bowler by Mark Waugh picked up 3-wickets for 38-runs in 10-overs including a maiden, Damien Fleming and Paul Reiffel both took one-wickets.

Richie Richardson named Player of the match for his match-winning captain innings of unbeaten 93-runs knocked off facing 133-balls including 10-fours and a six.
