Stuart Broad and James Anderson combined six-wickets after Half-centuries from Ravi Bopara and Jonathan Trott helped to England thrilling 6-run victory over South Africa in a low-scoring thriller of the 21st match of a Cricket World Cup.

Imran Tahir's 4 for 38 is his best bowling figures in ODIs surpassing his 4 for 41 in the game against West Indies. From a position of 124 for 3, South Africa lost their next four wickets for an additional three runs including three wickets with the score on 124. Stuart Broad's 4 for 15 is the best bowling performance by ean England bowler in World Cup matches against South Africa and the seventh best by an English bowler overall in World Cups. The 99-run partnership between Jonathan Trott and Ravi Bopara is the second highest for the fourth wicket for England in World Cups. Jonathan Trott continued his excellent ODI form with his ninth half-century. He has now scored 1080 runs in 22 matches at an average of 54. England's six-run win is their closest margin of victory in a World Cup match when they have batted first. Their previous closest win was the nine-run win over India in the 1992 World Cup. The 172 is the lowest target that South Africa have failed to chase in World Cups and the third lowest in ODIs.

England scored modest total of 171 for all-out in 45.4 overs with top scorer by Ravi Bopara 60, Jonathan Trott struck 52 off 94-balls including three boundaries and Graeme Swann 16.

South Africa best bowler by Imran Tahir claimed 4-wicket haul for 38-runs in 8.4 overs, Robin Peterson picked up 3-wickets, Morne Morkel took two-wickets and one for Dale Steyn.

South Africa scored 165 for all-out in 47.4 overs with top scorer by Hashim Amla struck 42 off 51-balls including two-fours, AB de Villiers scored 25, Graeme Smith 22 and Dale Steyn 20.

England best bowler by Stuart Broad claimed 4-wicket haul for 15-runs in 6.4 overs, James Anderson takes two-wickets, Tim Bresnan, Graeme Swann and Michael Yardy each took one-wickets.

Ravi Bopara named Player of the match for his spectacular batting display of scoring valuable 60-runs knocked off facing 98-balls including 3-fours and a six.
