Daniel Vettori's four-for after rapid knocks from Brendon McCullum, Craig McMillan and Jacob Oram helped to New Zealand registered their historic first T20I win against India by narrow 10-runs in a high-scoring clash of the 13th match of a World Twenty20.

  • New Zealand's 10-run win was the third smallest victory by terms of runs in T20 Internationals.
  • Daniel Vettori's 4-20 was the second best bowling figures for New Zealand in T20 international, it is the fourth best figures in T20Is and also in World Twenty20.
  • New Zealand's 190 was their highest score in T20 international and it is the fourth highest total in World Twenty20.
  • India's 180 was their highest-score in T20Is, previous highest was 141 against Pakistan at Durban in this tournament.

New Zealand scored massive total of 190 for all-out in exact 20 overs with top scorer by Brendon McCullum struck 45 off 31-balls including nine boundaries with strike rate of 145.16.

Craig McMillan blasted a 23-ball 44-runs included 4-sixes and a four with strike-rate of 191.30.

Jacob Oram hammered a 15-ball 35-runs included 3-sixes and 2-fours with striking rate of 233.33, Peter Fulton scored 21 and Daniel Vettori 15.

India best bowler by Harbhajan Singh, RP Singh both took two-wickets and one for Sreesanth - Yuvraj Singh.

India scored 180-9 in 20 overs with top scorer by Gautam Gambhir hammered a 33-ball 51-runs including 5-fours and 2-sixes with strike rate of 154.54.

Virender Sehwag cracked a rapid 17-ball 40-runs including 6-fours and 2-sixes with striking rate of 235.39.

MS Dhoni struck 24 off 20-balls with 2-fours, Sreesanth cracked a 10-ball 19-runs including four boundaries and Dinesh Karthik scored 17.

New Zealand best bowler by Daniel Vettori claims 4-20, Jacob Oram, Jeetan Patel and Shane Bond each took one-wickets.

Daniel Vettori named Player of the match for his masterclass spin bowling attack to claimed a career-best 4-wicket haul for 20-runs in 4-overs.
