Ajantha Mendis and Isuru Udana's combined 5-wickets after A solid batting display from Tillakaratne Dilshan and Mahela Jayawardene guided to Sri Lanka thumping 48-run victory over New Zealand and march into semi-finals in the 23rd match of a World Twenty20.

* New Zealand lost their last six wickets for just 17-runs - which was their worst last six-wicket collapse in One-day international, It is the second worst last 6-wicket collapse in ODIs and the worst last six-wicket collapse in World Twenty20. They went from 93 for 4 to 110 for all out.

Their previous worst such collapse was six for 26-runs against Pakistan at The Oval in this tournament.

Sri Lanka scored 158-5 in 20 overs with top scorer by Tillakaratne Dilshan 48 off 37-balls - who fell two-run short of his half-century - including 5-fours.

Mahela Jayawardene blasted a unbeaten 41 off 29-balls including 6-fours & a six with strike rate of 141.37, Kumar Sangakkara struck run-a-ball 35-runs included 3-fours.

New Zealand best bowler by Daniel Vettori took 2-wickets, Nathan McCullum, Ian Butler and Kyle Mills each took one-wickets.

New Zealand scored 110 for all-out in 17 overs with top scorer by Martin Guptill struck 43 off 34-balls including four-fours & a six with strike rate of 126.47 and Aaron Redmond cracked a 23 off 13-balls included 3-fours & a six with strike-rate of 176.92.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Ajantha Mendis 3-9, Isuru Udana takes 2-wickets, Muttiah Muralitharan, Lasith Malinga and Sanath Jayasuriya each took one-wickets.

Ajantha Mendis named player of the match for his spin bowling attack to picked up 3-wickets for 9-runs in 3-overs.
