Tillakaratne Dilshan's record-breaking 57-ball 96* before Stunning bowling from Angelo Mathews' three-wickets in the opening over, Spinners Muttiah Muralitharan and Ajantha Mendis' combined 5-wickets helped to Sri Lanka thumping 57-run victory over West Indies, despite a last-man standing knock from Chris Gayle's unbeaten 63* and first time enter into the ICC World-T20 finals in the second semi-final of a World Twenty20.

* Tillakaratne Dilshan's 96* was the highest score by an Sri Lankan batsman in T20 international cricket history, surpassing the previous record of 88 held by Sanath Jayasuriya against Kenya at Johannesburg in the inaugural 2007 World Twenty20 and the joint third highest-score in T20Is, jointly with Damien Martyn.

Sri Lanka scored 158-5 in 20 overs with top scorer by Tillakaratne Dilshan 96 not out, Sanath Jayasuriya 24 and Angelo Mathews 12 not out.

West Indies best bowler by Dwayne Bravo takes 2-wickets, Kieron Pollard, Sulieman Benn and Jerome Taylor each took one-wickets.

West Indies scored 101 for all-out in 17.4 overs with top scorer by Chris Gayle cracked a unbeaten 63 off 50-balls including 8-fours, Denesh Ramdin 9 and Shivnarine Chanderpaul 7.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Angelo Mathews picked up 3-wickets for 16-runs in 4-overs, Muttiah Muralitharan takes three-wickets for 29-runs in 4-overs, Ajantha Mendis took 2-wickets for 9-runs in 4-overs, Isuru Udana and Lasith Malinga both took one-wickets.

Tillakaratne Dilshan named Player of the match for record-breaking unbeaten rapid 96-runs knocked off facing 57-balls including 12-fours and 2-sixes with strike rate of 168.42.
