Thisara Perera holds nerve as Sri Lanka thrilling 2-run victory over Bangladesh, despite a fighting knock from Anamul Haque's 58 and take a 1-0 lead in a nail-biter game of the first T20I.

  • Sri Lanka's 2-run win was their smallest victory by terms of runs in T20 internationals, previous narrowest win by 6-runs against Zimbabwe at Bulawayo in the last year.
  • Sri Lanka's 168 was their second highest score against Bangladesh in T20 internationals.
  • Bangladesh's 166 was their joint seventh highest score in T20 international and It is their second highest total against Sri Lanka in T20Is.
  • 54 : Kusal Perera and Dinesh Chandimal set up the record second-wicket partnership for Sri Lanka against Bangladesh in T20 international, previously held by the 45-run stand between these same pair at Pallekele in the last year and Sri Lanka's tenth highest second-wicket stand in T20Is.
  • 52 : Tamim Iqbal and Shamsur Rahman set up the record first-wicket partnership for Bangladesh against Sri Lanka in T20 international, previously held by the 9-run stand between Mohammad Ashraful and Shamsur Rahman at Pallekele in the last year.
  • Anamul Haque became the first Bangladesh batsman to score a fifty against Sri Lanka in T20 international cricket history.

Sri Lanka scored 168-7 in 20 overs with top scorer by the Kusal Perera 64, Nuwan Kulasekara struck 31 off 21-balls including 2-sixes & a four with strike rate of 147.61, Thisara Perera 19 not out and Dinesh Chandimal 18.

Bangladesh best bowler by Debutant Arafat Sunny - who took 2-wickets on his debut T20I match, Shakib Al Hasan and Mashrafe Mortaza both takes 2-wickets.

Bangladesh scored 166-7 in 20 overs with top scorer by Anamul Haque cracked a 58 off 45-balls including 7-fours, Tamim Iqbal struck 30 off 25-balls included 6-fours.

Shakib Al Hasan hammered a 26 off 17-balls with 2-fours & a six with strike rate of 152.94 and Shamsur Rahman blasted a 22 off 15-balls included four-fours with strike-rate of 146.67.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Nuwan Kulasekara, Thisara Perera both took 2-wickets and one for Ajantha Mendis - Lasith Malinga.

Kusal Perera named Player of the match for his brilliant batting performance to scored a quick-fire 64-runs knocked off facing 44-balls including 7-fours and a six with strike rate of 145.45.
