Rapid half-centuries from James Franklin and Rob Nicol before An unbeaten stunning 5-ball 20 by Kane Williamson helped to New Zealand thrilling five-wicket victory over Zimbabwe and clinch the two-match series 2-0 whitewash in a high-scoring encounter of the second T20I.

  • New Zealand chased 201 was their highest successful run-chase in T20 international cricket history and the overall third highest run-chase in T20Is, Only India and South Africa have managed to chase down higher targets.
  • 402 : This was the fifth highest aggregates match in T20 internationals and it is also the highest between New Zealand and Zimbabwe in T20Is.
  • Zimbabwe's 200 was their highest score in T20 internationals, previous highest was 186 against South Africa at Kimberley in 2010. However, on all the three occasions that Zimbabwe have scored over 160 in their first innings, they have gone on to lose the game.
  • New Zealand's 202 was their second highest score in T20 international and their highest total against Zimbabwe in T20Is, previous highest was 187 at Harare in the last year.
  • 103 : Rob Nicol and James Franklin set up the fourth century stand for the opening wicket for New Zealand in Twenty20 matches and the 20th overall. Their highest is 130 between Jesse Ryder and Brendon McCullum against West Indies in 2008.
  • Hamilton Masakadza hammered a 26-ball fastest fifty for Zimbabwe in T20 internationals.
  • Brendan Taylor's strike rate of 174.41 during his innings of 75 is the highest for a Zimbabwe batsman for a fifty-plus score in Twenty20 internationals. It is also the second-highest score by a Zimbabwe batsman after Hamilton Masakadza's 79 against Canada in 2008.
  • Kane Williamson's 20, which won New Zealand the match, is the highest on the list of most runs scored by players who have faced exactly five balls in an innings.

Zimbabwe scored mammoth total of 200-2 in 20 overs with top scorer by Brendan Taylor blasted a unbeaten 75 off 43-balls including six-fours and 3-sixes with strike rate of 174.71.

Hamilton Masakadza hammered a 62 off 42-balls including 4-sixes & 3-fours with strike rate of 147.61, Stuart Matsikenyeri blasted a 32 off 19-balls included 3-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 168.42.

Elton Chigumbura blasted a unbeaten 29 off 16-balls including five-fours with strike-rate of 181.25.

New Zealand best bowler by Ronnie Hira and Michael Bates both took one-wickets.

New Zealand chased 202-5 in 19.4 overs with top scorer by James Franklin 60, Rob Nicol cracked a 56 off 37-balls including 4-sixes and 4-fours with strike rate of 162.16.

Brendon McCullum hit 38 off 24-balls included 4-fours & a six with strike rate of 158.88 and Kane Williamson blasted a unbeaten 20 off 5-balls including 3-fours and a six with strike-rate of 400.

Zimbabwe best bowler by Elton Chigumbura and Kyle Jarvis both took 2-wickets.

James Franklin named Player of the match for his match-winning rapid 60-runs knocked off facing 37-balls including 5-sixes and 3-fours with strike rate of 162.16.
