A magnificent display of clean hitting-sixes from Albie Morkel and good support from AB de Villiers helped to South Africa thrilling 13-run victory over New Zealand in the World Twenty20 Group E match.
South Africa scored 170-4 in 20 overs with top scorer by AB de Villiers cracked a unbeaten 47 off 39-balls including 2-sixes & a four, Albie Morkel blasted a unbeaten 40 off 18-balls, Jacques Kallis 31 and Herschelle Gibbs 30.
New Zealand best bowler by Jacob Oram, Nathan McCullum and Tim Southee each took one-wickets.
New Zealand scored 157-7 in 20 overs with top scorer by Jesse Ryder struck 33 off 28-balls including 2-sixes & 2-fours, Nathan McCullum cracked a unbeaten 26 off 17-balls included 2-fours & a six with strike rate of 152.94, Ross Taylor 19, Martin Guptill and Gareth Hopkins both scored 18-runs.
South Africa best bowler by Johan Botha, Morne Morkel, Charl Langeveldt each took two-wickets and one for Dale Steyn.
Albie Morkel named Player of the match for his magnificent batting display of scoring a unbeaten flurry 40-runs off 18-balls including 5-sixes with strike rate of 222.22.
