Chris Gayle's maidne IPL century powers to Royal Challengers Bangalore emphatic nine-wicket victory over Kolkata Knight Riders in the 24th match of a Indian Premier League.

Match Stats : 
  • Chris Gayle hammered a 55-ball joint tenth fastest century in Indian Premier League and became the second Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman to score a 100 in IPL after Manish Pandey.
  • Royal Challengers Bangalore' 9-wicket win was their joint second largest victory by terms of wickets remaining in Indian Premier League, it is their third time win by nine wickets and first time RCB had defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by nine or more wickets in IPL.

KKR scored 171-5 in 20 overs with top scorer by Gautam Gambhir cracked a 48 off 38-balls - who fell two-run short of his half-century - including 6-fours.

Yusuf Pathan hammered a 46 off 24-balls including 3-sixes & 3-fours with strike rate of 191.66, Jacques Kallis struck 40 off 42-balls included 4-fours and Brad Haddin hit 18 off 11-balls contained 2-fours & a six with strike rate of 163.63.

RCB best bowler by Sreenath Aravind captured two-wickets and one for Jamaluddin Syed Mohammad - Daniel Vettori.

RCB chased 175-1 in 18.1 overs with top scorer by Chris Gayle hammered a unbeaten 102 off 55-balls - which was his 1st IPL hundred.

Tillakaratne Dilshan cracked a 38 off 31-balls including 6-fours and Virat Kohli hit a unbeaten 30 off 23-balls contained 3-fours & a six.

KKR best bowler by Lakshmipathy Balaji took 1-wicket for 43-runs in 4-overs.

Chris Gayle named Player of the match for his match-winning career-best rapid unbeaten 102 off facing 55-balls including 10-fours and 7-sixes with strike rate of 185.45.
