Murali Vijay, Michael Hussey and Ravichandran Ashwin stars as Chennai Super Kings comprehensive 58-run victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore and lift their second IPL trophy in the final of a Indian Premier League.

Match Stats : 
  • Chennai Super Kings became the first team to win the two Indian Premier League titles.
  • CSK's 205 was their fourth highest score in Indian Premier League and it is their highest total against Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL, previous highest was 183 at same venue earlier in this season.
  • Chennai Super Kings' 205 was the highest score ever in a IPL final, improving their previous highest was 168 against Mumbai Indians at Dy Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai in the 2010 IPL final.
  • 159 : Michael Hussey and Murali Vijay set up the record first-wicket partnership in Indian Premier League history, previously held by the unbeaten 155-run stand between Adam Gilchrist and VVS Laxman (DC) vs MI at Mumbai in the inaugural IPL 2008 and the second highest any-wicket stand in IPL.

CSK scored massive total of 205/5 (20 overs) with top scorer by Murali Vijay hammered a 95 off 52-balls - who fell five-run short of his century - including 6-sixes & 4-fours with strike rate of 182.69.

Michael Hussey blasted a 63 off 45-balls including 3-sixes & 3-fours with strike rate of 140 and MS Dhoni hit 22 off 13-balls contained 2-sixes with strike rate of 169.23.

RCB best bowler by Chris Gayle, Sreenath Aravind both took 2-wickets and one for Jamaluddin Syed Mohammad.

RCB scored 147-8 in 20 overs with top scorer by Saurabh Tiwary cracked a unbeaten 42 off 34-balls including 3-sixes & a four.

Virat Kohli struck 35 off 32-balls including one-six & a four, Zaheer Khan scored a run-a-ball 21-runs included 2-fours and AB de Villiers hit 18 off 12-balls contained 3-fours.

CSK best bowler by Ravichandran Ashwin picked up 3-wickets for 16-runs in 4-overs, Shadab Jakati captured two-wickets, Dwayne Bravo, Doug Bollinger and Suresh Raina each took one-wickets.

Murali Vijay named Player of the match for his blazing 95-runs knocked off facing 52-balls including 6-sixes and 4-fours with strike rate of 182.69.

Chris Gayle earned player of the tournament for leading run-scorer - 608-runs with average of 67.55 including 2-centuries and 3-fifties.
