A marvellous exhibition of power-hitting batting display from Devon Conway, Shivam Dube, Ajinkya Rahane, Ambati Rayudu and Ravindra Jadeja powers to Chennai Super Kings last-ball thrilling five-wicket victory over defending champion Gujarat Titans, despite a Sai Sudharsan's sensational 47-ball 96 - Mohit Sharma's stunning three-for and CSK clinch the their fifth IPL title in a rain-curtailed historic game of the final of a Indian Premier League.

  • Chennai Super Kings became the only the second Team to win the five IPL trophies after Mumbai Indians.
  • 5 : Chennai Super Kings equalled joint most IPL titles, jointly with Mumbai Indians.
  • This is the CSK's seventh title in all T20 tournaments, equalled with Mumbai Indians and Titans (South Africa), and only behind Sialkot Stallions' all T20 8 trophies.

  • MS Dhoni became the first player to appearance 250th match in IPL history, behind only Rohit Sharma (243), Dinesh Karthik (242), Virat Kohli (237), Ravindra Jadeja (226) and Shikhar Dhawan (217).
  • 67 : Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill set up the record first-wicket partnership for Gujarat Titans against Chennai Super Kings in Indian Premier League, previously held by the 59-run stand between these same pair at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai in the last season and the GT's fifth highest opening stand in IPL.
  • 64 : Wriddhiman Saha and Sai Sudharsan set up the record second-wicket partnership for Gujarat Titans against Chennai Super Kings in Indian Premier League, previously held by the 53-run stand between Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan at same venue in this season and the GT's ninth highest second-wicket stand in IPL.
  • 81 : Sai Sudharsan and Hardik Pandya set up the record third-wicket partnership for Gujarat Titans in Indian Premier League, previously held by the 31-run stand between Shubman Gill and Dasun Shanaka at Chennai in this season and also the GT's highest third-wicket stand in IPL, previously held by the 65-run stand between Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya against Delhi Capitals at Pune in the last season.
  • Sai Sudharsan's 96 was the third highest-score in a IPL final after Shane Watson's unbeaten 117 and Wriddhiman Saha's unbeaten 115.
  • Sai Sudharsan's 96 was the joint fourth highest score for Gujarat Titans in Indian Premier League, jointly with Shubman Gill and the highest-score by an GT batsman against Chennai Super Kings in IPL, surpassing the previous record of unbeaten 94 held by David Miller at Pune in the last season.
  • 74 : Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway set up the second highest first-wicket partnership for Chennai Super Kings against Gujarat Titans in IPL.
  • Shubman Gill's 890 runs in this IPL season - the second leading run-scorer in a IPL season, after Virat Kohli's 973 in 2016 IPL edition.

* When Chennai Super Kings needed 10 from 2-balls, then all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja struck 10 off final two-balls against Gujarat Titans' pace bowler Mohit Sharma on the reserve day used IPL final.


GT scored mammoth total of 214-4 in 20 overs with top scorer by Sai Sudharsan hammered a career-best 96 off 47-balls - who fell four-run short of his maiden IPL century - including 8-fours & 6-sixes with strike rate of 204.25.

Wriddhiman Saha struck 54 off 39-balls including 5-fours & a six, Shubman Gill blasted a 39 off 20-balls included 7-fours with strike rate of 195 and Hardik Pandya cracked a unbeaten 21 off 12-balls including 2-sixes with strike rate of 200.

CSK best bowler by Matheesha Pathirana took 2-wickets and one for Deepak Chahar - Ravindra Jadeja.

CSK chased 171-5 in 15 overs - due rain revised DLS target of 171 from 15-overs - with top scorer by Devon Conway blasted a 47 off 25-balls including 4-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 188.

Shivam Dube cracked a unbeaten 32 off 21-balls including 2-sixes, Ajinkya Rahane hammered a 27 off 13-balls included 2-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 207.69.

Ruturaj Gaikwad hit 26 off 16-balls including 3-fours & a six with strike rate of 162.50, Ambati Rayudu hammered a 19 off 8-balls - on his farewell IPL game - included 2-sixes & a four with strike rate of 237.50 and Ravindra Jadeja hammered a unbeaten 15 off 6-balls including one-six & a four with strike rate of 250.

GT best bowler by Mohit Sharma picked up 3-wickets for 36-runs in 3-overs and Noor Ahmad took 2-wickets.

Devon Conway named Player of the match for his match-winning quick-fire 47 off 25-balls including 4-fours and 2-sixes with strike rate of 188.

Shubman Gill earned player of the series for contributing 890 runs including three centuries with average of 59.33 in 17 innings.
