Indian captain Virat Kohli smashed a career-best record 235-runs knocked off facing 340-balls including 25-fours and a six helped to India set up the mammoth total of 631 against England in the second Test match.
* Virat Kohli became the fifth Indian batsman to score three double centuries in Test matches.
* Virat Kohli's 235 was his highest score for India in Test matches and the highest score by an Indian batsman against England in Tests, surpassing the previous record of 224 held by Vinod Kambli at same venue in 1993.
* Virat Kohli's 235 was the highest score by an Indian captain in Test matches, surpassing the previous record of 224 held by MS Dhoni against Australia at Chennai in 2013.
Virat Kohli who slammed his 3rd Test double century - which was his first double hundred against England in Tests and his 200 came from 302-balls.
