Marcus Trescothick and Andrew Flintoff stars as England thrilling 5-run victory over India, despite a Harbhajan Singh's maiden five-for - Sourav Ganguly's all-round display and drawn the six-match series with 3-3 in a nerve-wracking game of the sixth & final ODI.

  • England's 5-run win was their joint second smallest victory by terms of runs in One-day international and It is their second narrowest win against India in ODIs.
  • It is the first time Marcus Trescothick dismissals on nervous nineties in One-day internationals.
  • Harbhajan Singh's 5 for 43 was his best bowling performance for India in One-day international and the second best bowling figures by an Indian bowler against England in ODIs after Javagal Srinath's 5 for 41.
  • Harbhajan Singh became the second Indian bowler to took 5-wicker haul against England in One-day internationals after Javagal Srinath.
  • India lost their last five wickets for just 26-runs - which was their third worst five-wicket collapse against England in One-day internationals. They went from 224 for 5 to 250 for all out.
  • England's 255 was their joint 11th highest score against India in One-day internationals.
  • India's 250 was their tenth highest score against England in One-day internationals.
  • 87 : Marcus Trescothick and Nasser Hussain set up the sixth highest second-wicket partnership for England against India in One-day internationals.

England scored 255 for all-out in 49.5 overs with top scorer by Marcus Trescothick 95 - who fell five-run short of his century.

Nasser Hossain hammered a 41 off 38-balls including 6-fours with strike rate of 107.89, Andrew Flintoff struck 40 off 50-balls included 4-fours & a six, Michael Vaughan 16 and Darren Gough 16 not out.

India best bowler by Harbhajan Singh claimed a career-best 5-wicket haul for 43-runs in 10-overs including a maiden, Javagal Srinath, Sourav Ganguly both took 2-wickets and one for Sachin Tendulkar.

India scored 250 for all-out in 49.5 overs with top scorer by Sourav Ganguly struck 80 off 99-balls including 4-sixes & 4-fours.

Dinesh Mongia scored 35 off 56-balls including 3-fours, Virender Sehwag struck 31 off 29-balls included 4-fours & a six with strike rate of 106.90, Hemang Badani 27 not out and Mohammad Kaif 20.

England best bowler by Andrew Flintoff picked up 3-wickets for 38-runs in 9.5-overs including a maiden, Michael Vaughan, Andy Caddick both took 2-wickets and one for Ashley Giles - Darren Gough.

Marcus Trescothick named Player of the match for his scintillating 95-runs knocked off facing 80-balls including 9-fours and a six with strike rate of 118.75.

Sachin Tendulkar earned player of the series for his all-round performance contributing 266-runs and took two wickets in the six-match ODI series.
