Josh Hazlewood's four-for, David Warner and Mitchell Marsh's blazing half-centuries spoil Dwayne Bravo and Chris Gayle's farewell in emphatic win for Australia by eight-wicket against West Indies and move to second place on the Group 1 points table in the 38th match of a T20 World Cup.

  • Australia chased 158 was their joint sixth highest successful run-chase in T20 international, It is their highest chase against West Indies in T20Is, previous highest chase was 151 at Gros Islet in 2012 and It is their second highest chase in T20 World Cups.
  • West Indies' 157 was their tenth highest score against Australia in T20 international and It is their fifth highest score against Australia in T20 World Cups.
  • 124 : David Warner and Mitchell Marsh set up the record second-wicket partnership for Australia in T20 international, previously held by the unbeaten 117-run stand between David Warner and Steve Smith against Sri Lanka at Brisbane in 2019, It is the Australia's fourth highest any-wicket stand in ODIs and the third highest second-wicket partnership in T20 World Cups.
  • David Warner's unbeaten 89 was his third highest score for Australia in T20 international, It is the highest-score by an Australian batsman against West Indies in T20 international, surpassing the previous record of 75 held by Mitchell Marsh at Gros Islet in this year and also the highest-score by an Australian batsman in T20 World Cups, surpassing the previous record of unbeaten 85 held by Cameron White against Sri Lanka at Bridgetown in the 2010 World Twenty20.

* It was a wistful day with Dwayne Bravo definitely and Chris Gayle possibly playing their last match for West Indies.

West Indies scored 157-7 in 20 overs with top scorer by Kieron Pollard hammered a 44 off 31-balls including 4-fours & a six with strike rate of 141.93.

Evin Lewis struck 29 off 26-balls including 5-fours, Shimron Hetmyer scored 27 off 28-balls included 2-fours, Andre Russell blasted a unbeaten 18 off 7-balls including 2-sixes & a four with strike rate of 257.14 and Chris Gayle 15.

Australia best bowler by Josh Hazlewood claimed a 4-wickets for 39-runs in 4-overs, Adam Zampa, Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins each took one-wickets.

Australia chased 161-2 in 16.2 overs with top scorer by David Warner 89 not out, Mitchell Marsh hammered a 53 off 32-balls including 5-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 165.62 and Aaron Finch 9.

West Indies best bowler by Chris Gayle and Akeal Hossein both took one-wickets.

David Warner named Player of the match for his  match-winning unbeaten quick-fire 89 off 56-balls including 9-fours & 4-sixes with strike rate of 158.92.
