Clive Radley's unbeaten maiden century, David Gower's half-century, Derek Randall's valuable 40 and Ian Botham's assault before Phil Edmonds and Geoff Miller's combined 5-wickets helped to England' record 126-run victory over New Zealand and clinch the two-match series 2-0 whitewash in a one-sided game of the second ODI.

  • England's 126-run win was their fourth largest victory by terms of runs in One-day international and It is their biggest win against New Zealand in ODIs, previous biggest win by 80-runs at Nottingham in the inaugural 1975 World Cup.
  • England's 278 was their third highest score in One-day international and It was their highest total against New Zealand in ODIs, previous highest was 266 at Nottingham in the inaugural 1975 World Cup.
  • Clive Radley became the fifth England batsman to score a hundred in One-day internationals.
  • Clive Radley became the third England batsman to score a century against New Zealand in One-day internationals after Dennis Amiss and Keith Fletcher.
  • 105 : Clive Radley and David Gower set up the record third-wicket partnership for England in One-day international, previously held by the 103-run stand between David Lloyd and Mike Denness against Pakistan at Nottingham in 1974 and the second highest third-wicket stand in ODIs.

England scored 278-5 in 55 overs with top scorer by Clive Radley 117 not out off 140-balls - which was his 1st ODI hundred.

David Gower struck 50 off 80-balls including 7-fours, Derek Randall scored 41 off 40-balls included 4-fours & a six.

Ian Botham blasted a 34 off 13-balls including 3-fours & a six with strike rate of 261.53 and Mike Brearley 27.

New Zealand best bowler by Brendon Bracewell and Richard Hadlee both took one-wickets.

New Zealand scored 152 for all-out in 41.2 overs with top scorer by Lance  Cairns hammered a 60 off 43-balls including 4-sixes & 4-fours with strike rate of 139.53.

Bruce Edgar scored 31 off consuming 75-deliveries including three boundaries and John Wright hit 30 off 58-balls included 3-fours.

England best bowler by Phil Edmonds picked up 3-wickets for 39-runs in 7.2-overs including a maiden, Geoff Miller takes 2-wickets, Bob Willis, Ian Botham and John Lever each took one-wickets.

Clive Radley named Player of the match for his superb batting performance to scored a career-best unbeaten 117-runs knocked off facing 140-balls including 11-fours.

Lance Cairns earned player of the series for New Zealand, his all-round performance to contributed 83 runs and took five wickets.

Clive Radley earned player of the series for England, his 158-runs in the two-match series.
