Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Jasprit Bumrah stars as India thumping 238-run victory over Sri Lanka and clinch the two-match series 2-0 whitewash in the second Test match.

Match Stats :
  • India's 238-run win was their fourth largest victory by terms of runs against Sri Lanka in Test matches.
  • India's 252 was their third lowest score in the completed innings against Sri Lanka in Test matches and It is their third lowest-total in the batting first at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Tests.
  • Rishabh Pant hammered a 28-ball fastest fifty for India in Test matches, surpassing the previous record of 30-ball half-century held by Kapil Dev against Pakistan at Karachi in 1982 and the joint ninth fastest half-century in Tests, jointly with Foffie Williams, Ian Botham, Chris Gayle and Colin de Grandhomme.
  • Sri Lanka's 109 was their second lowest score in the completed innings against India in Test matches.
  • Jasprit Bumrah's 5 for 24 was his fourth best bowling performance for India in Test matches and the ninth best bowling figures by an Indian bowler against Sri Lanka in Tests.
  • India's 303 was their second highest score against Sri Lanka at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Test matches.
  • Sri Lanka's 208 was their second lowest score in the completed innings at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Test matches.

* Shreyas Iyer's blazing 92 as India scored respectable total of 252 before Pace bowling attack from Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami's combined 5-wickets to Sri Lankan top-order collapse on the opening day of the second Test match.

* Rishabh Pant's record-breaking fifty and Shreyas Iyer's superb half-century as India set a target of 447 before Sri Lanka scored 28 for 1 in the day two of the second Test match.

* Ravichandran Ashwin's four-for, Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel's combined 5-wickets as India wrap a dominant series win, despite a skipper Dimuth Karunaratne's brilliant century on the day three of the second Test match.


India 1st Innings scored 252 for all-out in 59.1 overs with top scorer by Shreyas Iyer hammered a 92 off 98-balls - who fell eight-run short of his century - including 10-fours & 4-sixes.

Rishabh Pant blasted a 39 off 26-balls including 7-fours with strike rate of 150, Hanuma Vihari 31, Virat Kohli 23 and Rohit Sharma 15.

1st Innings Sri Lanka best bowler by Praveen Jayawickrama, Lasith Embuldeniya both picked up 3-wickets, Dhananjaya de Silva took 2-wickets and one for Suranga Lakmal.

Sri Lanka 1st Innings scored 109 for all-out in 35.5 overs with top scorer by Angelo Mathews 43, Niroshan Dickwella 21 and Dhananjaya de Silva 10.

1st Innings India best bowler by Jasprit Bumrah claimed a 5-wicket haul for 24-runs in 10-overs including four maidens, Mohammed Shami, Ravichandran Ashwin both took 2-wickets and one for Axar Patel.

India 2nd Innings scored 303-9 declared in 68.5 overs with top scorer by Shreyas Iyer struck 67 off 87-balls including 9-fours.

Rishabh Pant hammered a 50 off 31-balls including 7-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 161.29, Rohit Sharma 46, Hanuma Vihari 35, Ravindra Jadeja 22 and Mohammed Shami 16 not out.

2nd Innings Sri Lanka best bowler by Praveen Jayawickrama claimed a 4-wickets for 78-runs in 19-overs including two maidens, Lasith Embuldeniya picked up 3-wickets and one for Dhananjaya de Silva - Vishwa Fernando.

Sri Lanka 2nd Innings scored 208 for all-out in 59.3 overs with top scorer by Dimuth Karunaratne 107 off 174-balls - which was his 14th Test hundred & his second century against India in Tests - including 15-fours, Kusal Mendis 54 and Niroshan Dickwella 12.

2nd Innings India best bowler by Ravichandran Ashwin claimed a 4-wickets for 55-runs in 19.3-overs including three maidens, Jasprit Bumrah picked up 3-wickets for 23-runs in 9-overs including four maidens, Axar Patel took 2-wickets and one for Ravindra Jadeja.

Shreyas Iyer named Player of the match for his brilliant 92 & 67 in an Test match.

Rishabh Pant earned player of the series for contributing 185-runs in the 2-match Test series.
