A superb economical bowling spell from Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yuzvendra Chahal before power-hitting display from Deepak Hooda, Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya helped to India comfortable seven-wicket victory over Ireland, despite a Harry Tector's quick-fire 64* and take a 1-0 lead in a rain-truncated 12-overs-a-side game of the first T20I.

Match Stats : 
  • India chased 109 was their eighth lowest successful run-chase in T20 international and It is their lowest chase against Ireland in T20Is, previously they chased 113 at Nottingham in the 2009 World T20.
  • Hardik Pandya captained India for the first time in his 60th match. He became the 9th player to captain for India in a T20I.

Ireland scored 108-4 in the allotted 12 overs - due to rain match reduced 20 to 12-overs per a side - with top scorer by Harry Tector hammered a unbeaten 64 off 33-balls including 6-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 193.93, Lorcan Tucker 18 and Gareth Delany 8.

India best bowler by Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Avesh Khan and Hardik Pandya each took one-wickets.

India chased 111-3 in 9.2 overs with top scorer by Deepak Hooda hammered a unbeaten 47 off 29-balls including 6-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 162.06.

Ishan Kishan blasted a 26 off 11-balls including 3-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 236.36 and Hardik Pandya hammered a 24 off 12-balls included 3-sixes with strike rate of 200.

Ireland best bowler by Craig Young took 2-wickets and one for Josh Little.

Yuzvendra Chahal named Player of the match for his superb economical bowling performance to took 1-wicket for 11-runs in 3-overs with economy rate of 3.66.
