Suryakumar Yadav's scintillating unbeaten century before Deepak Hooda's four-for, Mohammed Siraj and Yuzvendra Chahal's each two wickets helped to India thumping 65-run victory over New Zealand, despite a Tim Southee's second T20I hat-trick and take a 1-0 lead in the second T20I.

  • India's 65-run win was their second largest victory by terms of runs against New Zealand in T20 international after their 73-run win at Kolkata in the last year 21st November.

  • 82 : Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya set up the record fourth-wicket partnership for India against New Zealand in T20 international, previously held by the 46-run stand between Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer at Hamilton in 2020 and the India's fifth highest fourth-wicket stand in T20Is.
  • Tim Southee became the first New Zealand bowler to claimed two hat-tricks in T20 international cricket history and overall the second player in T20Is after Lasith Malinga.
  • New Zealand's 126 was their joint second lowest score in the completed innings against India in T20 internationals.
  • Deepak Hooda's 4 for 10 was his best bowling performance for India in T20 international and the best bowling figures by an Indian bowler against New Zealand in T20Is, surpassing the previous record of 3 for 9 held by Axar Patel at Kolkata in 21st November 2021. 

India scored 191-6 in 20 overs with top scorer by Suryakumar Yadav hammered a unbeaten 111 off 51-balls - which was his 2nd T20I hundred & his first century against New Zealand in T20Is. 

Ishan Kishan struck 36 off 31-balls including 5-fours & a six, Shreyas Iyer scored 13 off 9-balls included one-six & a four and Hardik Pandya hit a run-a-ball 13-runs without a boundary.

New Zealand best bowler by Tim Southee picked up 3-wickets for 34-runs in 4-overs, Lockie Ferguson took 2-wickets and one for Ish Sodhi.

New Zealand scored 126 for all-out in 18.5 overs with top scorer by Kane Williamson struck 61 off 52-balls including 4-fours & 2-sixes.

Devon Conway scored 25 off 22-balls including 3-fours and Glenn Phillips hit 12 off 6-balls included one-six & a four with strike rate of 200.

India best bowler by Deepak Hooda claimed a career-best 4-wickets for 10-runs in 2.5-overs, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal both took 2-wickets and one for Bhuvneshwar Kumar - Washington Sundar.

Suryakumar Yadav named Player of the match for his scintillating batting performance to smashed a unbeaten 111-runs knocked off facing 51-balls including 11-fours and 7-sixes with strike rate of 217.64.
