Openers Fakhar Zaman's superb century and Imam-ul-Haq classy half-century sets up to Pakistan convincing five-wicket victory over New Zealand, despite a Daryl Mitchell's brilliant hundred and take a 1-0 lead in a historic game of the first ODI.

  • Pakistan chased 289 was their second highest successful run-chase against New Zealand in ODIs after they chased 292 at Lahore in 2003.
  • New Zealand's 288 was their tenth highest score against Pakistan in One-day internationals.
  • 102 : Will Young and Daryl Mitchell set up the seventh highest second-wicket partnership for New Zealand against Pakistan in One-day internationals.

New Zealand scored 288-7 in 50 overs with top scorer by Daryl Mitchell struck 113 off 115-balls - which was his 2nd ODI hundred & his first century against Pakistan in ODIs - including 11-fours & a six.

Will Young hammered a 86 off 78-balls including 8-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 110.25, Henry Nicholls scored a unbeaten 20 off 21-balls included a boundary, Tom Latham hit 20 off 36-balls without a boundary and Mark Chapman 15.

Pakistan best bowler by Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf each took 2-wickets and one for Shadab Khan.

Pakistan chased 291-5 in 48.3 overs with top scorer by Fakhar Zaman struck 117 off 114-balls - which was his 9th ODI hundred & his second century against New Zealand in ODIs.

Imam-ul-Haq hit 60 off 65-balls including 5-fours & a six, Babar Azam scored 49 off 46-balls - who fell one-run short of his half-century - included 3-fours & a six.

Mohammad Rizwan cracked a unbeaten 42 off 34-balls including 6-fours & a six with strike rate of 123.52.

New Zealand best bowler by Adam Milne takes 2-wickets, Rachin Ravindra, Blair Tickner and Ish Sodhi each took one-wickets.

Fakhar Zaman named Player of the match for his match-winning brilliant 117-runs knocked off facing 114-balls including 13-fours & a six with strike rate of 102.63.
