* Australia have secure retained the Ashes after escaping a fourth Test dominated by England with a rain-ruined draw. They will leave Old Trafford on Monday morning with a 2-1 lead, and Australia have the opportunity to clinch a first series win in England since 2001 at The Oval next week.



Australia 1st Innings scored 317 for all-out in 90.2 overs with top scorer by Marnus Labuchagne cracked a 51 off 115-balls including 6-fours.

Mitchell Marsh hammered a 51 off 60-balls including 7-fours & a six with strike rate of 85, Travis Head hit 48 off 65-balls - who fell two-run short of his half-century - included 7-fours.

Steve Smith cracked a 41 off 52-balls including 5-fours & a six with strike rate of 78.84, Mitchell Starc hit a unbeaten 36 off 93-balls included 6-fours.

David Warner struck 32 off 38-balls included 3-fours, Alex Carey 20 and Cameron Green 16.

1st Innings England best bowler by Chris Woakes claimed a 5-wickets for 62-runs in 22.2-overs including four maidens, Stuart Broad takes 2-wickets, James Anderson, Mark Wood and Moeen Ali each took one-wickets.

England 1st Innings scored 592 for all-out in 107.4 overs with top scorer by Zak Crawley hammered a 189 off 182-balls - which was his 4th Test hundred & his first century against Australia in Tests - including 21-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 103.84.

Jonny Bairstow blasted a unbeaten 99 off 81-balls including 10-fours & a six with strike rate of 122.22, Joe Root blasted a 84 off 95-balls including 8-fours & a six.

Moeen Ali struck 54 off 82-balls including 7-fours and Ben Stokes struck 51 off 74-balls included 5-fours.

2nd Innings Australia best bowler by Josh Hazlewood claimed a 5-wickets for 126-runs in 27-overs including two maidens, Cameron Green, Mitchell Starc both took 2-wickets and one for Pat Cummins.

Australia 2nd Innings scored 214-5 in 71-overs at Stumps - with top scorer by Marnus Labuchagne cracked a 111 off 173-balls - which was his 11th Test hundred & his second century against England in Tests - including 6-fours.

Mitchell Marsh scored a unbeaten 31 off 107-balls including 4-fours, David Warner scored 28 off 53-balls including 3-fours, Usman Khawaja 18 and Steve Smith 17.

2nd Innings England best bowler by Mark Wood picked up 3-wickets for 27-runs in 11-overs, Chris Woakes and Joe Root both took one-wickets.
