Chris Sole's new-ball burst with three-wicket haul, Brandon McMullen and Michael Leask's all-round display efforts helped to Scotland comprehensive 31-run victory over Zimbabwe, despite a fighting innings by Ryan Burl's career-best 83 and Scotland keep alive their world cup spot in a tight-game of the 26th match of a Cricket World Cup Qualifier.

  • Scotland's 31-run win was their largest victory by terms of runs against Zimbabwe in ODIs, previously they won by 26-runs at Edinburgh in 2017.

Scotland scored 234-8 in 50 overs with top scorer by Michael Leask blasted a 48 off 34-balls - who fell two-run short of his half-century - including 3-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 141.17.

Matthew Cross cracked a 38 off 75-balls including two boundaries, George Munsey scored 31 off 52-balls included 2-fours.

Christopher McBride hit 28 off 45-balls Including 2-fours and Mark Watt hit a unbeaten 21 off 15-balls including 3-fours with strike rate of 140.

Zimbabwe best bowler by Sean Williams picked up 3-wickets for 41-runs in 10-overs including a maiden, Tendai Chatara took 2-wickets and one for Richard Ngarava.

Zimbabwe scored 203 for all-out in 41.1 overs with top scorer by Ryan Burl struck a career-best 83 off 84-balls including 8-fours & a six.

Wesley Madhevere hit 40 off 39-balls including 3-fours & a six and Sikandar Raza scored 34 off 40-balls included 2-fours & a six.

Scotland best bowler by Chris Sole 3-33, Brandon McMullen, Michael Leask both took 2-wickets, Chris Greaves, Mark Watt and Safyaan Sharif each took one-wickets.

Chris Sole named Player of the match for his brilliant bowling performance to picked up 3-wickets for 33-runs in 7-overs.
