Read the article of Sri Lanka vs Pakistan 2nd ODI 1986 - Pakistan tour of Sri Lanka 4-match one-day international series of the 2nd ODI match played between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at Tyronne Fernando Stadium, Moratuwa in 08th March 1986.


Sri Lanka's hopes of a win over Pakistan in Colombo were thwarted by heavy rain which forced the abandonment of the second ODI.


* Sri Lankan skipper Duleep Mendis won the toss decided to Pakistan into bat first, Pakistan were struggling at 125-8 in 38 overs when rain brought an early close to their innings. Further heavy rain stopped Sri Lanka from beginning their reply.

* Earlier, some fine bowling backed by an excellent fielding display had given the Sri Lankans the driver seat and a good chance of levelling the four-match series.

* Pakistan won the first limited overs international by eight wickets. The two sides meet again tomorrow in the third match of the series.

* Debutant Champaka Ramanayke was the most successful bowler for Sri Lanka - who took 3-25.


Pakistan scored 125-8 in 38 overs with top scorer by Javed Miandad hit 30 off 45-balls, Mudassar Nazar scored 29 off consuming 66-balls, Imran Khan 20 and Mohsin Khan 16.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Debutant Champaka Ramanayake - who picked up 3-wickets for 25-runs on his debut ODI match in 6-overs, Debutant Kaushik Amalean, Don Anurasiri, Ashantha de Mel and Champaka Ramanayake each took one-wickets.
