Andrew Jones' brilliant 85 and Ken Rutherford's half-century before Off-spinners Dipak Patel and Chris Kuggeleijn's combined 5-wickets helped to New Zealand comprehensive 99-run victory over Sri Lanka and qualify for the semi-finals in a one-sided third match of a Sharjah Cup.




New Zealand scored 258-8 in 50 overs with top scorer by Andrew Jones cracked a 85 off 98-balls,
Ken Rutherford struck 65 off 62-balls including 8-fours.

Bert Vance scored 45 off 78-balls included 3-fours & a six, Dipal Patel hit 27 off 31-balls contained three-fours and Mark Greatbatch 15.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Ravi Ratnayeke took 2-wickets and one for Asoka de Silva.

Sri Lanka scored 159 for all-out in 42.5 overs with top scorer by Brendon Kuruppu hit 46 off 70-balls including one-six & a four.

Asanka Gurusinha scored 27 off 49-balls including 2-fours, Ravi Ratnayeke 25 and Ranjan Madugale 15.

New Zealand best bowler by Dipak Patel picked up 3-wickets for 22-runs in 6.5-overs, Chris Kuggeleijn captured two-wickets, Willie Watson, Ken Rutherford and Danny Morrison each took one-wickets.

Andrew Jones named Player of the match for his brilliant batting performance to scored a 85-runs knocked off facing 98-balls including 4-fours & 2-sixes.
