Openers Desmond Haynes' well-made 45, Richie Richardson's superb 80 and Carlisle Best' blazing fifty powers West Indies resounding four-wicket victory over England and clinch the five-match series with 3-0 in the fifth & final ODI.


England scored 214-3 in the allotted 38 overs with top scorer by Robin Smith struck 69 off 84-balls including 7-fours.

Allan Lamb hammered a unbeaten 55 off 39-balls including 7-fours with strike rate of 141.02, Wayne Larkins scored 34 off 73-balls included 4-fours and Nasser Hussain 15 not out.

West Indies best bowler by Ezra Moseley and Courtney Walsh both took one-wickets.

West Indies chased 217-6 in 37.3 overs with top scorer by Richie Richardson struck 80 off 84-balls including 8-fours & a six.

Carlisle Best blasted a 51 off 43-balls including 6-fours & a six with strike rate of 118.60 and Desmond Haynes hit 45 off 54-balls included 7-fours & a six.

England best bowler by Gladstone Small picked up 3-wickets for 29-runs in 9-overs, Eddie Hemmings, David Capel and Phil DeFreitas each took one-wickets.

Richie Richardson named Player of the match for his match-winning superb 80 off 84-balls including 8-fours and a six.

Richie Richardson earned player of the series for contributing 258 runs in the five-match series.
