Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Marsh and Josh Philippe stars as Australia cruising to via DLS method seven-wicket win over India and take a 1-0 lead in a rain-shortened 26-over-a-side game of the first ODI.

Match Stats : 
  • India lost their top four batsmen wickets for just 45-runs - which was their joint 11th worst first four-wicket collapse against Australia in One-day international and it is their seventh worst first 4-wicket collapse in Australia in ODIs.
  • The 18 runs between Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli - the lowest aggregate by India's top three batsman in a ODI since the 2019 World Cup semi-final against New Zealand at Manchester.

India scored 136-9 in the allotted 26 overs due to multiple rain interruption - match reduced from 50 to 26-overs per-a-side - with top scorer by KL Rahul hammered a 38 off 21-balls including 2-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 122.58.

Axar Patel cracked a 31 off 38-balls including 3-fours, Debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy -who blasted a unbeaten 19 off 11-balls on his debut ODI match - included 2-sixes with strike rate of 172.72.

Australia best bowler by Josh Hazlewood captured 2-wickets for 20-runs in 7-overs including two maidens with economy rate of 2.85.

Mitchell Owen, Matthew Kuhnemann both took 2-wickets and one for Mitchell Starc - Nathan Ellis.

Australia chased 131-3 in 21.1 overs - due rain revised DLS target of 131 from 26-overs - with top scorer by Mitchell Marsh hit a unbeaten 46 off 52-balls.

Josh Philippe hammered a 37 off 29-balls including 3-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 127.58 and Debutant Matt Renshaw - who scored a unbeaten 21 off 24-balls on his debut ODI match - included one-six & a four.

India best bowler by Washington Sundar, Axar Patel and Arshdeep Singh each took one-wickets.

Mitchell Marsh named Player of the match for his match-winning captain innings of unbeaten 46 off 52-balls including 3-sixes & 2-fours.
