Axar Patel, Washington Sundar and Shivam Dube guided India thumping 48-run victory over Australia and took an unassailable 2-1 lead in a one-sided game of the fourth T20I.

Match Stats : 
  • India's 48-run win was their second largest victory by terms of runs against Australia in T20Is after their 73-run win at Mirpur in the 2014 World Twenty20.
  • 56 : Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill equalled a joint fifth highest first-wicket partnership for India against Australia in T20Is, jointly 56-run stand held by between KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan at Sydney in 2020.
  • India's 167 was their ninth highest score against Australia in Australian soil in T20 international and the highest-score by any team at Carara in T20Is, previous highest was 146 by Australia against West Indies in 2022.
  • Australia's 119 was their second lowest score in a completed innings against India in T20 international after their 86 at Mirpur in the 2014 World Twenty20.
  • Australia lost their last seven wickets for just 28-runs - which was their third worst last seven-wicket collapse in T20 international and it is their worst last 7-wicket collapse against India in T20Is. They went from 91 for 3 to 119 for all out. Their previous worst such collapse was seven for 42-runs against India at Mirpur in the 2014 T20 World Cup.

India scored 167-8 in 20 overs with top scorer by Shubman Gill cracked a 46 off 39-balls including 4-fours & a six.

Abhishek Sharma struck 28 off 21-balls including 3-fours & a six, Shivam Dube hit 22 off 18-balls included one-six & a four.

Axar Patel hammered a unbeaten 21 off 11-balls and Suryakumar Yadav blasted a 20 off 10-balls contained 2-sixes with strike rate of 200.

Australia best bowler by Nathan Ellis picked up 3-wickets for 21-runs in 4-overs, Adam Zampa captured three-wickets for 45-runs in 4-overs, Xavier Bartlett and Marcus Stoinis both took one-wickets.

Australia bowled out for 119 in 18.2 overs with top scorer by Mitchell Marsh cracked a 30 off 24-balls including 4-fours.

Matthew Short struck 25 off 19-balls including 2-sixes & 2-fours, Marcus Stoinis scored 17 off 19-balls included 2-fours and Tim David hit 14 off 9-balls contained one-six & a four with strike rate of 155.55.

India best bowler by Washington Sundar picked up 3-wickets for 3-runs in 1.2-overs with economy rate of 2.25, Axar Patel, Shivam Dube captured two-wickets, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakravarthy and Jasprit Bumrah each took one-wickets.

Axar Patel named Player of the match for his all-round performance to took 2-wickets for 20-runs in 4-overs after scoring a valuable 21 off facing 11-balls including one-six & a four with strike rate of 190.90.
