Salman Agha's unbeaten century and Hussain Talat's half-century before Haris Rauf's four-for helped Pakistan narrow 6-run victory over Sri Lanka, despite Wanindu Hasaranga's all-round display and take a 1-0 lead in a high-scoring thriller of the first ODI.

  • Pakistan's 6-run win was their joint smallest victory by terms of runs against Sri Lanka in One-day international, jointly with their 6-run win at Lucknow in the 1989 MRF World Series (Nehru Cup).
  • Pakistan's 299 was their joint second highest score against Sri Lanka at their home venue in One-day international and It is their fourth highest total at Rawalpindi in ODIs.
  • 138 : Salman Agha and Hussain Talat set up the third highest fifth-wicket partnership for Pakistan against Sri Lanka in ODIs.
  • Sri Lanka's 293 was their joint fourth highest score against Pakistan in Pakistan soil in One-day international and It is their highest total at Rawalpindi in ODIs, previous highest was 184 also against Pakistan in 1995.

Pakistan scored decent total of 299-5 in 50 overs with top scorer by Salman Agha blasted a unbeaten 105 off 87-balls - which was his 2nd ODI hundred and his first century against Sri Lanka in ODIs.

Hussain Talat cracked a 62 off 63-balls including 6-fours & a six, Mohammad Nawaz hammered a unbeaten 36 off 23-balls included 5-fours & a six with strike rate of 156.52.

Fakhar Zaman struck 32 off 55-balls including 2-fours & a six and Babar Azam hit 29 off 51-balls included 3-fours.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Wanindu Hasaranga picked up 3-wickets and one for Asitha Fernando - Maheesh Theekshana.

Sri Lanka scored 293-9 in the allotted 50 overs with top scorer by Wanindu Hasaranga blasted a 59 off 52-balls including 7-fours with strike rate of 113.46.

Sadeera Samarawickrama struck 39 off 48-balls including 6-fours, Kamil Mishara blasted a 38 off 36-balls included 5-fours & a six with strike rate of 105.55.

Charith Asalanka cracked a 32 off 49-balls including two boundaries, Pathum Nissanka struck 29 off 39-balls included 3-fours.

Janith Liyanage hammered a 28 off 24-balls including 2-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 116.66 and Maheesh Theekshana hit a unbeaten 21 off 8-balls contained two-fours.

Pakistan best bowler by Haris Rauf claimed a 4-wickets for 61-runs in 10-overs including a maiden, Faheem Ashraf, Naseem Shah both took 2-wickets and one for Mohammad Nawaz.

Salman Agha named Player of the match for his superb batting performance to smashed a unbeaten 105-runs knocked off facing 87-balls including 9-fours with strike rate of 120.68.
