Heavy rain washed out Singer World Series match between India and Pakistan for the second successive day, raising doubts of further play in Sri Lanka's biggest cricket event.

The day-night international, the last match in the round-robin league of the four-nation tournament, was the called off without a ball being bowled as rain made the Premadasa Stadium a waterhole.

India earned a point from the abandoned match to take its tally to three, one more than Australia and qualify for tomorrow's final against host Sri Lanka, without a win, finsihed with one point.

But incessant rain threatens to ruin the final as well, even though organisers have decided to shift it from Premadasa Stadium to the nearby Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) ground. The SSC ground was knee-deep in water and officials said it would be a miracle if play started at all.

India and Sri Lanka will share the series if tomorrow's play is washed out as requests to have a reserve day for the final were turned down by the Indians.

"We can't play on Sunday became some of the players have commitments elsewhere" Indian manager Ajit Wadekar Said.

Three Indians are due to fly out to England on Sunday to take part in a sixes tournament. The others are committed to play in a domestic tournament.
