* Aravinda de Silva and Pubudu Dassanayake salvage Sri Lankan pride on their disastrous tour of India by plundering 15 runs from the last over for a one-day international victory at Jalandhar.

De Silva and Pubudu Dassanayake punished medium fast bowler Javagal Srinath to secure a four-wicket win, India hammered Sri Lanka in the three Test matches and easily won the first two internationals.



India scored 213-9 in 50 overs with top scorer by Sachin Tendulkar struck 52 off 63-balls including 3-fours.

Navjot Sidhu cracked a 46 off 79-balls including 4-fours & a six, Ajay Jadeja struck 37 off 62-balls included 4-fours and Rajesh Chauhan hit a unbeaten 26 off 27-balls contained 2-fours.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Aravinda de Silva, Muttiah Muralitharan both captured 2-wickets,  Sanath Jayasuriya, Ruwan Kalpage and Chaminda Vaas.

Sri Lanka chase down the target of 141 for 6 in 32.5 overs - due to rain revised target of 141 from 41-overs - with top scorer by Dulip Samaraweera struck 49 off 65-balls including 5-fours.

Aravinda de Silva cracked a unbeaten 32 off 49-balls, Hashan Tillakaratne scored 23 off 41-balls without a boundary and Pubudu Dassanayake hit a unbeaten 20 off 18-balls contained 2-fours.

India best bowler by Venkatapathy Raju picked up 3-wickets for 19-runs in 8-overs with economy rate of 2.37, Sachin Tendulkar and Javagal Srinath both picked up one-wickets.

Aravinda de Silva named Player of the match for his match-winning all-round performance to scored a unbeaten 32 off 49-balls including 4-fours after taking 2-wickets for 30-runs in 7-overs.
