* Under the different match conditions used across the Tasman for one-day cricket, Australia needing further 146 runs from 31.3 overs at 4.63 an over and they reached remaining 146 from 31 overs to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.



New Zealand scored 196-8 in the allotted 48 overs with top scorer by Tony Blain cracked a 41 off 65-balls including a boundary.

Ken Rutherford cracked a run-a-ball 35-runs including 3-fours & a six, Mark Greatbatch struck 32 off 63-balls included 4-fours & a six.

Gavin Larsen hit a unbeaten 23 off 19-balls including a six with strike rate of 121.05 and Andrew Jones scored 22 off 44-balls contained two boundaries.

Australia best bowler by Paul Reiffel claimed a 4-wickets, Mark Waugh, Merv Hughes and Steve Waugh each took one-wickets.

Australia chase down the target of 197 for 9 in 44.3 overs with top scorer by Mark Waugh struck 57 off 80-balls including 4-fours & a six.

David Boon hit 55 off 66-balls including 6-fours, Steve Waugh cracked a 30 off 54-balls without a boundary and Ian Healy 15.

New Zealand best bowler by Chris Harris, Danny Morrison both took 2-wickets and one for Dipak Patel - Chris Pringle.

Paul Reiffel named Player of the match for his brilliant bowling performance to claimed a 4-wickets for 38-runs in 10-overs including two maidens with economy rate of 3.80.
