Desmond Haynes and Richie Richardson's fifties leads to West Indies convincing three-wicket victory over England and level the series with 1-1 in a rain-affected game of the second ODI.


* Played throughout amid a near-deafening din from a capacity crowd, the weather may have been decisive. A shower, when England were marginally on top, reduced West Indies' target from 96 in 14 overs to 80 in 11-overs.


England scored 253-8 in 50 overs with top scorer by Alec Stewart struck 66 off 88-balls including 9-fours & a six.

Robin Smith hit 56 off 64-balls including 2-sixes & a four, Mike Atherton struck 46 off 74-balls included 4-fours.

Graeme Hick cracked a 31 off 36-balls including one-six & a four and Matthew Maynard hit 22 off 19-balls included 3-fours with strike rate of 115.78.

West Indies best bowler by Kenny Benjamin picked up 3-wickets for 44-runs in 10-overs including a maiden, Anderson Cummins captured two-wickets and one for Keith Arthurton - Roger Harper.

West Indies chase down the target of 238, finishing at 240 for 7 in 45.5 overs with top scorer by Desmond Haynes hit 53 off 83-balls including 6-fours.

Jimmy Adams blasted a unbeaten 52 off 46-balls including 5-fours with strike rate of 113.04, Richie Richardson cracked a 32 off 39-balls included 2-fours and Anderson Cummins hit 16 off 10-balls contained a boundary.

England best bowler by Steve Watkin claimed a career-best 4-wickets for 49-runs in 9.5-overs including a maiden, Graeme Hick captured two-wickets and one for Angus Fraser.
