Stocky South Australian Darren Lehmann and his towering team-mate, Western Australia's Tom Moody, helped hand Australia A a five-wicket win against Zimbabwe in the World Series one-day cricket match at the WACA Ground.

Opener Lehmann punished the Zimbabwe bowlers, unleashing his trademark cover drives to hit an entertaining 85 from just 87 balls.

He was out with Australia only 10 runs short of victory, stumped while attempting his 13th boundary. Australia A went on to over-haul Zimbabwe's total 9-166, scoring 5-167. with 14.5 overs to spare.

Moody, largely responsible for restricting the tourists to an attainable target, was voted man of the match with his 10-over spell of 3-16.

Zimbabwe made a stunning start thanks to the Flower brothers, Grant and Andy, who opened the innings and belted 50 from the first 8% overs.
But from there Zimbabwe lost its way to finish with the same total as it did on Friday against Mark Taylor's Australian team.

Lehmann was in a belligerent mood in the. Australia A innings, bringing up his 50 off 58 balls.

It included one boundary to fine leg when he walked three paces down the pitch while facing the medium pace of Guy Whittal.

Queenslander Matthew Hayden (16) and local captain Damien Martyn (15) were back in the dressing room with the total on 56, but Lehmann and Justin Langer compiled a neat 50 partnership to help steer the side to a comfortable position.

The 32nd over provided some worrying hiccups for the home side, with Langer (24) caught at mid-on trying to drive leg spinner Paul Strang, and Ricky Ponting run out for a duck attempting a quick single.

Moody capped a rewarding day by hitting the winning runs to finish not out on 16.

Zimbabwe captain Andy Flower was once again left to ponder what might have been, as his middle-order failed to fire for the second successive World Series match.

The Flower brothers slammed 20 runs from Jo Angel's second over, the third of the innings, to entertain ideas of a total towards 250, but Zimbabwe lost 7-65 finish in dismal shape.
