Sri Lanka scored 288-4 in 50 overs with top scorer by Sanath Jayasuriya hammered a career-best 140 off 143-balls - which was his 1st ODI hundred.

Aravinda de Silva blasted a 55 off 45-balls including 2-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 122.22, Asanka Gurusinha cracked a 53 off 91-balls included 5-fours and Arjuna Ranatunga scored a unbeaten 20 off 17-balls contained a boundary.

New Zealand best bowler by Chris Pringle picked up 3-wickets for 29-runs in 10-overs with economy rate of 2.90 and Chris Harris took one-wicket.

New Zealand scored 66 for 1 in 14.3 overs when rain stopped the play - with top scorer by Adam Parore hit a unbeaten 31 off 48-balls including 4-fours, Bryan Young cracked a unbeaten 22 off 31-balls included 2-fours and Stephen Fleming 11.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Ravindra Pushpakumara took 1-wicket for 18-runs in 5-overs with economy rate of 3.60.
