Henry Nicholls' classy 68 and Dean Foxcroft's maiden half-century before Blair Tickner's four-for and Nathan Smith's three-wickets helped to New Zealand narrow 26-run victory over Bangladesh and take a 1-0 lead in the first ODI.

  • New Zealand's 247 was their second highest score against Bangladesh at Mirpur in One-day internationals after their 254 in 2023.

Dean Foxcroft hit a 59 off 58-balls, Nathan Smith hit a unbeaten 21 off 22-balls included a boundary, Will Young cracked a 30 off 42-balls included 2-fours.

Bangladesh best bowler by Shoriful Islam, Rishad Hossain, Taskin Ahmed each took 2-wickets and one for Mehidy Hasan Miraz - Nahid Rana.

Bangladesh bowled out for 221 in 48.3 overs with top scorer by Saif Hassan struck 57 off 76-balls including 8-fours & a six.

Towhid Hridoy hit 55 off 60-balls including 2-sixes & 2-fours, Litton Das cracked a 46 off 68-balls included 3-fours and Afif Hossain scored 27 off 49-balls without a boundary.

New Zealand best bowler by Blair Tickner claimed a 4-wickets for 40-runs in 4-overs, Nathan Smith picked up 3-wickets, Dean Foxcroft, Jayden Lennox and Will O’Rourke each took one-wickets.

Dean Foxcroft named Player of the match for his all-round performance to scored a career-best brilliant 59 off facing 58-balls including 8-fours with strike rate of 101.72.
