Inzamam-ul-Haq's brilliant 88, Wasim Akram's solid fifty before Fast bowler Aaqib Javed's five-wicket haul helped to Pakistan's record 97-run victory over India in the third match of a Pepsi Asia Cup.

Match Stats :
  • Pakistan's 97-run win was their joint eighth largest victory by terms of runs in One-day international and It is their biggest win by terms-of-runs against India in ODIs, previous biggest win by 77-runs at Kolkata in the 1989 Nehru Cup.
  • Aaqib Javed became the first Pakistan bowler to take two five-wicket hauls against India in ODI cricket history.
  • Aaqib Javed became the fourth Pakistan bowler to claimed two five-wicket hauls in ODIs after Waqar Younis (7) and Wasim Akram (5).
  • Aaqib Javed's 5 for 19 was his second best bowling performance for Pakistan in One-day international and also his best-bowling-figures against India in ODIs after his record-breaking 7 for 37 at same venue in 1991 Wills Trophy final.

Pakistan scored 266-9 in 50 overs with top scorer by Inzamam-ul-Haq struck 88 off 100-balls including 7-fours.

Wasim Akram blasted a 50 off 46-balls including 4-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 108.69, Aamer Sohail cracked a run-a-ball 40-runs included 6-fours & a six.

Saeed Anwar struck 25 off 40-balls including 2-fours & a six and Debutant Zafar Iqbal - who scored 18 off 10-balls on his debut ODI match - including one-six & a four with strike rate of 180.

India best bowler by Anil Kumble, Utpal Chatterjee both took 2-wickets and one for Venkatesh Prasad - Javagal Srinath.

India bundled out for 169 in 42.4 overs with top scorer by Navjot Sidhu struck 54 off 81-balls including 7-fours.

Sanjay Manjrekar cracked a 50 off 73-balls including 2-sixes & a four and Nayan Mongia scored 18 off 29-balls included a boundary.

Pakistan best bowler by Aaqib Javed 5-19, Aamer Sohail captured 2-wickets for 3-runs in 1.4-overs, Wasim Akram picked up 1-wicket and Debutant Zafar Iqbal - who took one-wicket on his debut ODI match.

Aaqib Javed named Player of the match for his pace bowling attack to claimed a 5-wicket haul for 19-runs in 9-overs including a maiden with economy rate of 2.11.
