  • Sri Lanka's 107-run win was their third largest victory by terms of runs in One-day international and It is their biggest win by terms-of-runs against Bangladesh in ODIs, previous biggest win by 71-runs at Kolkata in 1990-91 Asia Cup.
  • Asanka Gurusinha became second Sri Lankan batsman to be dismissed off the first ball of a One-day international match after Roshan Mahanama dismissed twice against Australia at Colombo (RPS) in 1992 and against New Zealand at Bloemfontein in the 1994-95 Mandela Trophy and overall the 12th player to dismissed off the first-ball of a ODI match.
  • This is the first time Asanka Gurusinha fell for a first-ball duck out in One-day international - Gurusinha became the first Sri Lankan opener to fall for a first-ball duck against Bangladesh in ODIs.

Sri Lanka bowled out for 233 in 49.4 overs with top scorer by Arjuna Ranatunga cracked a 71 off 72-balls, Sanath Jayasuriya struck 51 off 72-balls including 8-fours.

Hashan Tillakaratne hit 37 off 41-balls included 2-fours and Aravinda de Silva scored 36 off 69-balls contained two boundaries.

Bangladesh best bowler by Saiful Islam claimed a 4-wickets for 36-runs in 10-overs including two maidens with economy rate of 3.60, Mohammad Rafique took 2-wickets and one for Minhajul Abedin.

Bangladesh bundled out for 126 in 44.2 overs with top scorer by Minhajul Abedin cracked a 26 off 37-balls including a boundary.

Akram Khan scored 24 off 62-balls without a boundary, Habibul Bashar hit 16 off 35-balls including 3-fours and Khaled Mashud cracked a 15 off 23-balls contained 2-fours.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Muttiah Muralitharan claimed a 4-wickets for 23-runs in 8.2-overs including a maiden with economy rate of 2.76, Janak Gamage captured 2-wickets for 17-runs in 7-overs included two maidens with economy rate of 2.42.

Chaminda Vaas took 1-wicket for 9-runs in 7-overs including four maidens with economy rate of 1.28, Sanath Jayasuriya and Ruwan Kalpage both took one-wickets.

Arjuna Ranatunga named Player of the match for his captain innings of 71 off 72-balls 2-fours & a six.
