  • Arjuna Ranatunga became the fifth Sri Lankan batsman to scored two hundreds in ODIs.
  • Saleem Elahi became the first Pakistan batsman to score a hundred on debut match in One-day international cricket history and overall the fourth player in ODIs after Dennis Amiss, Desmond Haynes and Andy Flower - who have scored centuries in their ODI debuts.

* Play was stopped for six minutes when police intervened after Sri Lanka's Pramodya Wickramasinghe was hit by an object thrown from the crowd.


Sri Lanka scored 233-5 in 50 overs with top scorer by Arjuna Ranatunga cracked a 102 off 112-balls - which was his 2nd ODI hundred and also his second century against Pakistan in ODIs - including 9-fours.

Asanka Gurusinha scored 57 off 104-balls including three boundaries and Sanath Jayasuriya hit 25 off 31-balls contained 3-fours & a six.

Pakistan best bowler by Ata-ur-Rehman captured two-wickets and Debutant Mohammad Akram - who took one-wicket on his debut ODI match.

Pakistan chase down the target of 234 for 1 in 44 overs with top scorer by Debutant Saleem Elahi - who scored a unbeaten 102 off 133-balls on his debut ODI match.

Aamer Sohail struck 77 off 97-balls including 8-fours and Ramiz Raja hit a unbeaten 44 off 37-balls included 4-fours & a six.

Saleem Elahi named Player of the match for his record-breaking debut batting performance to scored a unbeaten 102-runs knocked off facing 133-balls including 7-fours & a six.
