Avishka Fernando's century and Kusal Perera's fifty before Lasith Malinga's three-for and Angelo Mathews' first ball wicket helped to Sri Lanka narrow 23-run victory over West Indies, despite a brilliant century from Nicholas Pooran in a high-scoring thriller of the 39th match of a World Cup.

* Sri Lanka's 338 was their third highest score in World Cups and it is their best total against West Indies in World Cups.

* West Indies 315 was their third highest score in World Cups and it is their second best total against Sri Lanka in World Cups.

Sri Lanka scored massive total of 338-6 in 50 overs with top scorer by Avishka Fernando 104 - which was his maiden ODI hundred.

Kusal Perera struck 64 off 51-balls including 8-fours with strike rate of 125.49, Lahiru Thirimanne cracked a unbeaten 45 off 33-balls included 4-fours with strike-rate of 136.36.

Kusal Mendis hit 39 off 41-balls including 4-fours, Dimuth Karunaratne hit 32 off 48-balls included four-fours and Angelo Mathews 26.

West Indies best bowler by Jason Holder picked up 3-wickets, Fabian Allen, Oshane Thomas and Sheldon Cottrell each took one-wickets.

West Indies scored 315-9 in 50 overs with top scorer by Nicholas Pooran 118 off 103-balls - which was his maiden ODI hundred - including 11-fours and 4-sixes.

Fabian Allen blasted a 51 off 32-balls including 7-fours & a six with strike rate of 159.37, Chris Gayle struck 35 off 48-balls included 2-sixes & a four, Shimron Hetmyer 29 and Jason Holder 26.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Lasith Malinga picked up 3-wickets, Angelo Mathews, who delivered first ball and took wicket after long-period 18-months in ODIs, Jeffrey Vandersay and Kasun Rajitha both took one-wickets.

Avishka Fernando named Player of the match for his fabulous 104-runs knocked off facing 103-deliveries included 9-fours and 2-sixes.
