New Zealand's 21-run win was their joint fifth smallest victory by terms of runs against Sri Lanka in One-day internationals. Thisara Perera hammered a 57-ball third fastest hundred for Sri Lanka in One-day internationals. Thisara Perera's 140 was his highest score for Sri Lanka in One-day international and the joint highest score by an Sri Lankan batsman against New Zealand in ODIs, jointly 140 held by Sanath Jayasuriya at Bloemfontein in 1994. Thisara Perara's 140 was the highest score by any batsman at Bay Oval in One-day international cricket history, surpassing the previous record of 138 held by Martin Guptill against Sri Lanka in this series' first ODI. 13 : Thisara Perera hit the sixth most sixes in an innings in One-day international and the most sixes hit by Sri Lankan batsman in an innings in ODIs, surpassing the previous record of 11-sixes hit by Sanath Jayasuriya against Pakistan at Singapore in 1996. It is the third time Ross Taylor dismissals on nervous nineties in One-day internationals and the joint third most nineties dismissals by an New Zealand batsman in ODIs, jointly 3 nineties dismissals by Martin Crowe and Stephen Fleming. New Zealand's 319 was their fourth highest score in One-day internationals. 112 : Colin Munro and Ross Taylor set up the third highest third-wicket partnership for New Zealand against Sri Lanka in One-day internationals. 75 : Thisara Perera and Lasith Malinga set up the record eighth-wicket partnership for Sri Lanka in One-day international, previously held by the 56-run stand between Ashantha de Mel and Somachandra De Silva at Napier in 1983 and Sri Lanka's fifth highest eighth-wicket stand in ODIs. Sri Lanka's 298 was their second highest score against New Zealand in One-day internationals and also It is their second highest total in New Zealand soil in ODIs.

New Zealand scored 319-7 in 50-overs with top scorer by Ross Taylor 90 off 105-balls - who fell ten-run short of his century - including 4-fours & a six.

Colin Munro blasted a 87 off 77-balls including 12-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 112.99, James Neesham hammered a 64 off 37-balls included 5-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 172.97.

Henry Nicholls scored 32 off 38-balls including 3-fours and Tim Seifert 22.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Lasith Malinga took 2-wickets and one for Nuwan Pradeep.

Sri Lanka scored 298 for all-out in 46.2-overs with top scorer by Thisara Perera 140 - who scored his maiden ODI hundred.

Danushka Gunathilaka scored 71 off 73-balls including 9-fours, Kusal Mendis 20 and Lasith Malinga 17.

New Zealand best bowler by Ish Sodhi picked up three wickets, James Neesham, Matt Henry both took 2-wickets and one for Trent Boult - Tim Southee.

Thisara Perera named Player of the match for his power-hitting batting performance to smashed a career-best 140-runs off facing 74-balls including 13-sixes and 8-fours with strike rate of 189.18.
