Bowlers attack before An unbeaten half-century from Mahela Jayawardene and Tillakaratne Dilshan's superb 45 helped to Sri Lanka thumping eight-wicket victory via DLS method over Australia in a rain-hit one-sided game of the sixth match of a CB Tri-series.

Match Stats : 
  • Sri Lanka chased 159 was their lowest successful run-chase against Australia in One-day internationals, previous lowest chase was 163 at Colombo (RPS) in 2002.
  • 49 : David Hussey and Mitchell Starc set up the second highest ninth-wicket partnership for Australia against Sri Lanka in One-day internationals.
  • Australia's 158 was their sixth lowest score in the completed innings at Sydney Cricket Ground in One-day international and It is their worst-total against Sri Lanka in One-day internationals, previous lowest was 162 at Colombo (RPS) in 2002.

Australia scored modest total of 158 for all-out in 40.5 overs with top scorer by David Hussey struck 58 off 64-balls including six boundaries, Mitchell Starc 17, Peter Forrest 16 and Matthew Wade 15.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Farveez Maharoof, Thisara Perera both took 2-wickets, Rangana Herath, Angel Mathews and Lasith Malinga each took one-wickets.

Sri Lanka chased 152-2 in 24.1 overs - due to rain revised target of 152 in 41-overs with top scorer by Mahela Jayawardene smashed a unbeaten 61 off 67-balls including five boundaries.

Tillakaratne Dilshan cracked a 45 off 41-balls including 4-fours & a six with strike rate of 109.76 and Kumar Sangakkara struck 30 off 29-balls included four-fours & a six.

Australia best bowler by Clint McKay and Brett Lee both took one-wickets.

Thisara Perera named Player of the match for his brilliant bowling performance to took two important wickets for 29-runs in 7-overs including a maiden and one run out.
