England scored 235-8 in 50 overs with top scorer by Phil DeFreitas struck 67 off 64-balls including five-fours and two-sixes, Dermot Reeve scored 35 off 34-balls included two boundaries, Darren Gough cracked a run-a-ball 26-runs with five-fours, Robin Smith 25 and Michael Atherton 22.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Kumar Dharmasena, Muttiah Muralitharan and Sanath Jayasuriya each took two-wickets and one for Chaminda Vaas.

Sri Lanka chased 236-5 in 40.4 overs with top scorer by Sanath Jayasuriya 82,  Asanka Gurusinha struck 45 off 63-balls including five-fours, Aravinda de Silva scored 31, Arjuna Ranatunga 25, Roshan Mahanama 22 not out and Hashan Tillakaratne 19 not out.

England best bowler by Dermot Reeve, Graham Hick, Darren Gough and Richard IlIingworth each took one-wickets.

Sanath Jayasuriya named Player of the match for his match-winning scintillating 82-runs knocked off facing 44-balls including 13-fours and 3-sixes with strike rate of 186.36.
